£10,000 reward put up by police to catch killer of Kadar Hussein who was murdered in Penge
A REWARD of £10,000 has been put up by police for information leading to the prosecution of the person responsible for murdering Kadar Hussein in Penge.
The announcement comes as the Met Police has released an image of a man detectives want to speak to about Kadar's murder.
The image is of Trai Williamson, 19, who is believed to be from the south east London area.
He was last seen on the night Kadar was shot, Wednesday May 8, and is known to frequent areas around Penge, Anerley and south east London but police say they are retaining an open mind as to his exact whereabouts.
Williamson is black, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, of slim build with short hair and a London accent.
On the night of Kadar's death, police officers were called to Kenilworth Road at 7.57pm.
Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended to find Kadar Hussein, 19, of Upper Elmers End Road, Beckenham, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
He was taken to Kings College Hospital and was pronounced dead 12 hours later.
An incident room has since opened at Lewisham under Detective Chief Inspector (DCI) Russell Taylor but there have so far been no arrests.
DCI Taylor said: "We are taking the unusual step of publicising Trai Williamson's name and image as it is critical he is found as soon as possible.
"The likelihood that he is being sheltered by someone in the hope that he remains out of sight is one line of inquiry that we are pursuing.
"I would appeal to anyone who may have accommodated Williamson or his helping him at present, to look to their conscience and do the right thing and inform the police of his whereabouts.
"Any information that is provided will be treated in the strictest of confidence and I urge anyone with any information no matter how small to let us know."
Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room on 020 8721 4868 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
For an immediate sighting of Trai Williamson members of the public are urged not to approach him but to dial 999.
The reward will be paid to the person who provides the police with information leading to the identification, arrest and prosecution of the person responsible for murdering Kadar.
