UPDATE: Anger as Dartford business opens without planning permission

AN ILLEGAL car wash business in Dartford is causing parking chaos, according to a fed-up neighbour.

Diori Hand Car Wash started trading in Shenley Road last week– despite not having planning permission.

Neighbour Tara Keen, 47, told News Shopper: “Parking down here is hard enough as it is.

“They’ve taken up extra parking spaces and do not have adequate drainage. It’s dreadful.

“It seems they’re doing exactly what they want.”

Dartford Council’s planning committee rejected the application to set up behind Practical Car Hire and Van Rental but permission was granted by the Planning Inspectorate on appeal.

However, the consent has since expired and therefore are banned from trading.

The council issued a Planning Enforcement Notice to the businesses’s owners on Thursday May, 30.

A council spokesman said: “The notice requires cessation of the hand car wash use and removal of associated structures, equipment and advertising. “They have 28 days to stop the use or lodge an appeal against the notice.”
