Police are appealing for witnesses following a hit-and-run between a car and a cyclist.
An ambulance and police were called to Clapham Common South Side, outside Clapham Common tube station, at 9.15am on bank holiday Monday, May 27.
Occupants of a blue Peugeot saloon involved in the accident made off on foot.
The cyclist, aged 23, was taken to hospital with a head injury where he remains in a serious condition.
Police have recovered the car, while an 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
He has been bailed to return to a south London police station in June.
Detective Sergeant John Hartfree, from the Metropolitan Police's road death investigation unit, said: "The cyclist has been left on the side of the road in a serious condition by a driver who didn't even stop to call the emergency services.
"I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision or has information on the occupants of the Peugeot to call officers."
Anyone with information should call the Road Death Investigation Unit on 020 8941 9011 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
