An innovative new theatre production could offer the perfect solution to new parents worried about their babies crying at the theatre.

Lullaby will open at the Polka Theatre on the 3rd May and will see the show’s composer Natalie Raybould performing soothing songs to an intimate audience of 12 babies and their parents.

Expectant mothers are also welcome at the performance, which is inspired by scientific research on early communication between mothers and babies.

Natalie Raybould, composer and performer of Lullaby says: "It’s a piece that is in a beautiful cosy tent of cream neutral colours where 12 babies and their parents come and sit down on cushions.

"I’m going to sing with you and for you...If your baby sings all the way through, that’s brilliant - I’ll duet with her.

"It’s just nice to be able to go somewhere and breathe and enjoy something beautiful."

Jo Belloli, associate producer at the Polka Theatre says: "We’ve convinced that there’s a real and connective justification for creating Lullaby for this very particular and special audience. We hope it will touch, engage, delight and inspire."
