Two Lewisham drug dealers convicted of gun and drug offences after £40k drug haul

Officers discovered loaded weapons including an M16 assault rifle and pistols, as well as up to £40,000 of heroin, cocaine, and cannabis during the raid in Dulwich in October last year.

Keenon Jones, 19, of Laleham Road, Catford, was found guilty of three counts of conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life, two counts of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and one count of conspiracy to supply Class B drugs at Woolwich Crown Court on April 23.

Colin Skyers, 20, of Foxborough Gardens, Brockley previously admitted three counts of conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life and one count of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs at Woolwich Crown Court on April 2.

The pair were two of four men and women found guilty of the drug and firearms offences and they will be sentenced on June 10.

Trident Gang Crime Command led the operation and says the convictions send a clear message they will "relentlessly pursue" those involved in gun crime.

Detective Inspector Paul Dorey, of Trident Gang Crime Command, said: "Trident officers continually target the suppliers of lethal firearms, protecting the public by removing guns from the hands of organised criminals and gangs.

"Trident officers have seized over 100 firearms and a large amount of ammunition from the streets of London since April last year. "The number of shootings taking place in London has also significantly reduced, with 20 per cent fewer incidents than last year.

"Investigations have confirmed one of the handguns was involved in two previous non-fatal gang-related shootings. "With this in mind, these firearms would surely have been involved in further shootings had they not been seized by police."

He went on to praise DC Martin Reader for his "exceptional" work in the case.

David MacKenzie, 33, was found not guilty of three counts of conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.
