Carshalton community pub visited by Boris Johnson gets CAMRA award

A community pub, given a new lease of life when regulars took over, is once again celebrating.

The Hope, in West Street, Carshalton, has won the Croydon and Sutton branch of CAMRA's local pub of the year award.

David Lands, chairman, of the Croydon and Sutton branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), said: "The Hope is a great example of a community pub."
