Among the bizarre stories and photos on April Fool's Day was this peculiar shot of a man walking of all things, a sheep.

The solitary shepherd was spotted taking a breather in the sunshine outside Starbucks near Raynes Park station on Monday morning.

Twitter user Jamie Bias wrote: "Why is this dude sitting outside Raynes Park station with a sheep?"

Although a rarity on the streets of Merton nowadays, they could regularly be seen in and around Raynes Park during the late 19th century when the area was a rural area which contained some farmland.
