AN ENFORCEMENT company which hands out fines for littering and dog fouling, has gone into administration.

XFor Local Authority Support was brought in by Bromley Council last summer to clamp down on people who drop litter or fail to pick up dog mess.

And figures revealed by the council last October showed the four wardens raked in £1,000 a day in fines during the first two weeks they were working in the borough.

For each of the fixed penalty notices issued Xfor would take £45 with the rest going to the council.

But despite this money making scheme in Bromley and other councils across England it was not enough to save the company which entered administration on March 12.

It has now been bought out by Kingdom Security.

This news has been greeted with surprise by Graham Shepherd, of May Avenue, St Mary Cray, whose wife received an £80 fine for dropping a cigarette butt near The Glades shopping centre, High Street, Bromley, in January.

The 53-year-old said: “For every ticket they issued they got £45 and even by the time they have taken running costs it surprises me that they have gone into administration.”

News Shopper approached Kingdom Security for a comment about the situation but did not hear back from the company before going to press.
