Beatles-style celebrations took place to mark the completion of a new zebra crossing.
The crossing at the corner of St John’s Road and Church Grove, Hampton Wick, connects cycle and pedestrian paths from Kingston and Bushy Park and has been long sought after.
The crossing aims to improve safety for park users, congregation members of St John’s Church, youngsters from the Kcafe and Skate Park and residents in the busy area.
Representatives at the official opening on Friday, March 22, included those from Royal Parks, Hampton Wick Association, Friends of Bushy Park and Kingston University.
Councillor Clare Head, Councillor Tony Arbour, Bernice King from Richmond Youth Partnership and Reverend Graham Singh from St John’s Church could not resist the chance to pose in the style of the Beatles’ Abbey Road album cover.
