Frankie Boyle says Bromley life like a 'lobotomy made out of bricks' Frankie Boyle says Bromley life like a 'lobotomy made out of bricks'

COMEDIAN Frankie Boyle has said life in Bromley is like ‘a lobotomy made out of bricks'.

The controversial comic made the statement on Twitter at about 11pm last night (March 18).

He tweeted from his official account @frankieboyle: “I lived in Bromley for a couple of years. It was like someone had made a lobotomy out of bricks.”

The town was the subject of last night’s BBC3 programme Snog Marry Avoid? - broadcast around the same time as Boyle commented on Twitter - with members of the public transformed from “fakery” into “natural beauties”.

The BBC website describes how host Ellie Taylor was transformed into a “walking, talking, living doll, as she takes on a look popular with the locals”.

Boyle is well known for his stint on panel show Mock the Week and has been criticised many times for his stand-up material.

In 2008 he said Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington was like "someone who's looking at themselves in the back of a spoon" and two years later he made jokes about Katie Price’s disabled son Harvey.

At least the show compared Bromley to Essex rather than effing Lundarn.

It doesn't even make grammatical sense.

Do people really still describe Frankie Boyle as a comic? Dropping him from Mock the Week was the best decision the BBC have made in a long time.

Jack Dee's thoughts on Orpington weren't much better.

They both have a point mind...

If you don't find it funny then fine. There are many comedians that I don't find funny. This comment I found funny. It's all about your own taste. I don't claim mine is good and other people's taste is bad, I do agree it isn't 'news'. It is at best 'gossip'.

Frankie Boyle is more or less correct as ususal, although I think he flatters Bromley slightly.

Bromley is great. A relatively calm place to live, a reasonable amount of shops and restaurants and great public transport to get into London.
Frankie Boyle, meanwhile, is not so great and his sense of humour has dropped to insulting people and places rather than a gentle ribbing that even the victims can laugh along with.

Good job he left Bromley then, we don't want him.

Snog, Marry, Avoid started off with some bizarre comments about cockneys. Er, it was Bromley, Kent, not Bromley-by-Bow. And the two women given make-unders in the show were from Hastings and Croydon. The only connection to Bromley was that the pod was set up in Market Square and there were a few vox-pops from people who may or may not have been Bromley residents. Half an hour of my life I'll never get back! Frankie Boyle: no comment. He doesn't deserve any more publicity.

Market Square? In that case half of them would have been from Lewishaminnit.

From the ES.. Saw you were wrongly mentioned in Evening Standard #Joe..it was #bnorther who actually said it! Lol

“One, named Joe, posted a message on the internet saying: “Just ignore him he’ll go away. He is from the Tenements in Glasgow... nuf said really.”

We love Frankie. He's up there with Clarkson and Gervais, shocking Middle England with his relevant observations

Blimey middle England - have you visited the delights of Glasgow recently. It's a pity they haven't got a fence round it to keep the likes of Boyle where they belong.

Switch? I think even my ancient TV now has a button to turn it on/off - thinking about it, it's so modern it even has a remote control - wireless, at that!

Except Boyle's usually on the BBC. We have to pay for him even if we don't watch him.
