James Tinker is selling off his Garfield collection
HE LOVES lasagne and hates Mondays but now he is being shown the cat flap as one collector sells off his immense Garfield collection.
James Tinker has been a fan of the ginger fat cat since he was 10 years old when he started reading the comic strip in the Daily Express.
And then he began collecting merchandise which he estimates is now worth around £1,000.
It is gathering dust in the loft of his home in Abbots Way, Beckenham, so Mr Tinker thinks the time is right to sell it on so someone else can enjoy it.
The 33-year-old said: “As much as I enjoy it, you get to an age where you do not spend your time doing these things anymore.
“I have been researching how much stuff will be worth in the future and my collection won’t be worth thousands and thousands so there is no point in hanging on to it.”
The engineer is planning to either hold an open house event where people can buy his collection or a stall in Bromley High Street.
But any Garfield fans may have to offer a little bit more for his telephone to convince him to part with it.
Mr Tinker added: “The Garfield telephone is my favourite item.
“He is asleep and when you lift up the receiver the eyes open, depending on what price I’m offered I might keep hold of that one.”
Email roddersf1@yahoo.co.uk if you want to buy any of the items.
