Man arrested over Bromley park 'granny disguise' sex assault
10:52am Friday 8th March 2013 in News By Patrick Grafton-Green
A 43-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a young girl in a Bromley park.
The 12-year-old was allegedly assaulted by a man in a grey 'granny-style' wig when playing with a friend in Shaftesbury Park on Sunday February 24.
His bizarre disguise also included a fake mole - which fell off during the assault - and a walking stick.
When her friend briefly went to the shops, the man is said to have approached the victim, throwing his walking stick to the side, pushed her off a swing and pinned her to the ground.
He lifted her top, but she kicked him in the jaw and escaped, running off across the park.
Police arrested the suspect at his home address in Sydenham, in connection with the assault, at approximately 9.30pm last night (Thursday March 7).
He remains in police custody.
