Jubilee line Tube strike threat over 'attacks at The O2'

This Is Local London: Jubilee Line strike threat over 'attacks at The O2' Jubilee Line strike threat over 'attacks at The O2'

JUBILEE line drivers on London Underground are being balloted over strike action following claims they have been attacked in The O2 car park and there are dirty toilets at their Greenwich depot.

Tube union RMT has confirmed that drivers working out of the Greenwich and Stratford depots would be balloted.

They cited unfair treatment of drivers in disciplinaries, "disgusting" facilities, removal of benefits and a lack of support from managers.

A spokesman for the union said that drivers had also been attacked in The O2 car park late at night due to poor lighting, and that their Greenwich toilets were frequently broken and left uncleaned.

General secretary Bob Crow criticised "bullying and intimidating" behaviour, saying: "Our members are also sick of the gradual decline in working conditions and facilities which have been allowed to degenerate into a disgusting state and which appears to be another petty and vindictive way of sniping at union members on the Jubilee line."

Jubilee line general manager John Doyle said: “The unions have informed us that they are in dispute with us over what they perceive as a breakdown in industrial relations.

"We are keen to understand their concerns and so will be meeting with the union later this week to discuss these issues in greater detail.”

Carry on striking because your days are numbered anyway. Driverless trains are on there way and train drivers and especially the Unions deserve everything that is coming their way. You are a disgrace and over paid for what you do. Get in the real world.
