Number crunchers from Enfield schools put their maths skills to the test during a competition this week.
Teams from Fortismere School in Muswell Hill and Latymer School in Edmonton took part in the finals of the Interest Rate Challenge on Tuesday.
Pupils from both schools made it through to the finals after winning the regional heats in November.
Teams of four students took on the role of the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee, and made a presentation to a panel of judges.
Although they did not win, judging panel chairman Simon Price said he was impressed by the high standard shown by all teams.
