Former Eltham teacher faces string of child pornography offences

A FORMER Eltham design and technology teacher has appeared in court charged with a string of child pornography offences, including having 4,079 indecent movies of children.

Andrew Hillary, aged 50, appeared at Bromley Magistrates' Court on February 27.

The teacher is accused of having 4,079 indecent movies and 83,203 indecent photographs of children.

He faced 17 counts of making an indecent photograph of a child, along with four counts of distributing such images.

Hillary was also charged with two counts of possessing an indecent photograph and possessing 100 prohibited images.

The teacher left his Eltham school last summer and is now living in Southsea, Hampshire.

He was granted conditional bail and will reappear at the court on April 10.
