The Bishop of London has blessed a new site and dedicated three icons at St Mary’s School in Twickenham.

Bishop Richard Chartres addressed and blessed pupils during a special assembly and enjoyed a tour of the new site in Strafford Road and its facilities.

Chairman of governors Elizabeth Rhodes said: “It was wonderful to see the whole school, staff and pupils, all together in the new hall for this ceremony.

“The children were eager to answer the Bishop’s questions during the assembly, were fascinated when the icons were blessed and were very proud to show him round the school.”

The expansion to a third site has enabled the school to grow to three form entry, and includes design and food technology facilities.
