FOLLOWING complaints about policing at the recent Crystal Palace v Charlton match, Croydon police have confirmed they will hold a meeting with local residents and stakeholders.

Groups of Charlton supporters were accused of smashing up cars and damaging residents' property after their team's 2-1 defeat to Palace on February 2.

This led to the arrest of 10 people, with two people from Bromley, including a 16-year-old boy, and one from Bexley being charged.

It has also been confirmed that two men, including a 20-year-old from Orpington, were issued with fixed penalty notices by British Transport Police officers on the day of the match.

The officers were called to the platform of Norwood Junction Station at 5.20pm.

The other man who recieved a penalty was a 19-year-old from Dartford.

Local residents, local councillors and representatives from both Crystal Palace and Charlton supporters groups have been invited to attend the meeting, which is being hosted by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on February 21.

The meeting will focus on the policing, safety and security arrangements for future matches at Selhurst Park.

Inquiries by the MET into the day's events continue - it is looking at the damage that occurred outside the ground as well as reviewing CCTV footage.

More arrests are said to be expected.
