A CHILDREN’S charity has received a boost from Chislehurst Golf Club.
Variety, an organisation which helps disabled or disadvantaged young people in the UK, was presented with a £23,000 cheque by special guest broadcaster David Hamilton at the club’s 18th century club house in Camden Park Road, Chislehurst.
The money will go towards the charity's Wheelchairs Programme which is aimed at providing mobility aids for disabled children through work with families and medical professionals.
Chislehurst Golf Club captain Bill Edwards said: ""Fundraising is an integral part of club activity as it means we can give back whilst enjoying the sport we love.
"We were particularly keen to support Variety, and its Wheelchair Programme in particular, as it focuses on transforming the lives of, and giving independence to disadvantaged children and young adults in the area."
