A choir that starred in the Olympics closing ceremony is looking forward to returning to sing for a second time at a church in Epsom.

The London Welsh Male Voice Choir, which learns hymns and arias by heart, is set to perform at St Martin’s Church, in Epsom, on February 16.

Concert secretary Rowland Francis said one of its choristers was a member of the church and the choir sang at St Martin’s two years ago.

Mr Francis said: "It’s a return visit. Last time we enjoyed singing there very much."

In August the choir sang the Olympic Hymn at the Olympic closing ceremony that reached an audience of over a billion around the world.

A month earlier the choir organised the Wales Choir of the World Concert compered by its president BBC new reader Huw Edwards at the Royal Albert Festival Hall.

The concert at St Martin’s church starts at 7pm but doors open from 6pm.
