Motorcyclist in hospital after Eltham A2 accident
1:30pm Friday 1st February 2013 in News By Mark Chandler
A MOTORCYCLIST is in hospital after being hit by a lorry on the A2 near the Kidbrooke interchange today.
Police and ambulances were called out to the incident at around 5.09am while a large section of the road was closed off, causing big tailbacks.
It is understood the motorboike had slowed down to let an ambulance past but the lorry travelling behind it was unable to stop in time and clipped the vehicle.
The motorbike driver was taken to hospital where he remains. His condition is not life-threatening.

What a highmare it was this morning!
How many more serious accidents are needed before this stretch of the A2 is sorted out? It should be easy to abolish the short and useless 3 lane section and to install average speed cameras instead of the fixed ones. This would go a long way towards eliminating erratic lane hopping and sudden braking.
Retest or reminder course every 10/15 years.
