The climate around Claremont Fan Court School is warming rapidly as the opening night of Sandy Wilson’s The Boy Friend approaches.

Set in the roaring 1920s, the fun musical will grace the stage in the Joyce Grenfell Centre at the school in Esher.

The school’s theatre will be converted in to a sunny Mediterranean street cafe - the location we are all craving for in the midst of winter snow, rain and wind storms.

Most of the action will happen among the audience, who will be seated at tables watching the show cabaret style, while partaking of suitably French refreshments, served by the school’s very own performing waitresses.

More than 70 youngsters from all years of the senior school are involved on or back stage, in the technical booth or in the palm court orchestra, and the musicians will be under the direction of director of music, Alexis Affonso.
