Hair today, gone tomorrow is the motto for one busy hairdresser.

Mobile hairdresser Rebecca Ray is hoping to shave 50 people’s heads in just two hours to raise money for mental health charity Mind.

The 20-year-old, who has been a qualified hairdresser for three years, has already convinced 20 people to sacrifice their tresses for the wacky event but hopes more will sign on the dotted line.

Miss Ray, who works for Hair @ Home, plans to perform the feat at her home in George Lovell  Drive in Enfield Island Village in June.

She said: “I just thought ‘why not?’ All I’ve had to say is ‘charity’ and people said they would get involved.”

She said men have been more easily persuaded so far to part with their mops, but hopes more women will get involved in the good cause.

Money will be raised by individual sponsorship from each of the people making the chop.
