Police are trying to find stolen silver cutlery worth thousands of pounds.

The set of 197 items was stolen from a house, in Woodland Way, Tadworth, between December 16 and January 5.

An embroidered cushion cover and the sterling silver pieces with a Carrs of Sheffield hallmark were taken during the break-in.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Simon Evans said: "I would appeal to anyone who has been offered the cutlery for sale or who believes they know the whereabouts of the stolen items to contact officers with information.

"The cutlery was of huge sentimental value to the victim and we will do all we can to try and reunite them with their property."

Anyone with information should contact Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference RB/13/182 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
