Edmonton shop's alcohol licence to be reviewed

A shop caught selling illegal alcohol will be having its licence reviewed by the council.

Enfield Wines in Fore Street, Edmonton, will have its licence to sell alcohol reviewed by members of Enfield Borough Council’s licensing sub-committee on Wednesday.

The review is being carried out on the grounds of the prevention of crime and disorder after the shop was found to be selling counterfeit products and alcohol on which duty had not been paid.

Police officers will also be at the hearing, in which the council could revoke the shop's licence.
