Epsom College's chapel choir performs at St Paul's Cathedral
Parents, friends and students gathered to watch Epsom College’s choir perform at St Paul’s Cathedral.
The independent school’s chapel choir sung evensong at the iconic venue, with all the music being chosen to suit the acoustics of the cathedral and its organ.
The choir sung Evensong canticles by Thomas Walmisley and the anthem, The Spirit of the Lord, by Elgar, reflecting the season when the church celebrates the baptism of Christ.
In recent years, the chapel choir has performed in many of the country's leading cathedrals including Westminster Abbey, Canterbury, St Albans, Southwark and Portsmouth.
The performance at St Paul’s was part of a busy term for the music department, with a recent trip to La Bohème at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden; a major concert later this month by the choral Society and chapel Choir, and the school opera, The Beggar's Opera, scheduled to take place in March.
