A CONSERVATIVE councillor who has represented Eltham South for 10 years has been deselected as a candidate for the ward in the next local elections.

Councillor Eileen Glover has said she plans to appeal the decision which was taken by her branch committee last night.

Cllr Glover, who lives in the ward, has been on Greenwich Council since 2002 and is on a host of committees including the overview and scrutiny panel.

She is understood to have been deselected in favour of party worker Mark Elliott.

When asked by News Shopper about the decision Cllr Glover said: "I'm appealing against it and I hope it's resolved amicably."
