An MP has warned there will be tough times ahead for families on low incomes as government cuts and caps are set to hit.

Edmonton representative Andy Love fears thousands of his people living in his constituency will be hit hard by a combination of cuts which are due to take effect from April.

He also fears the cuts could lead to low income families from central London forced to look for more affordable housing in Edmonton, making it harder for local residents to find a home.

The MP said: “People living in Edmonton are facing some really tough times. Not only do we have some of the highest unemployment rates in London and pressures on housing, but we are likely to be the first destination for families being squeezed out of central London.

“This will only increase pressure on already strained services in Edmonton and Enfield.

“With this triple-whammy of cuts landing in April, the Government really need to think about how this will affect vulnerable families.”
