Downham, New Cross and Woolwich fire stations closure rejected by London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority

PROPOSALS to close 12 fire stations, including Downham, New Cross and Woolwich, and axe 520 jobs have been rejected by the London Fire Authority.
The plan – aimed at saving £45m over the next two years – was discussed at length at a meeting of London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority (LFEPA) yesterday afternoon (January 21).
An amendment was made by Labour members, which was supported by Liberal Democrat and Green members of the Authority.
The amendment means the Authority has not agreed to consultation on the part of the plan that deals with the closure of fire stations, or loss of appliances or firefighters.
A London Fire Brigade spokesman said: “Over the coming days, the London Fire Commissioner Ron Dobson will be discussing with officers what this means in terms of setting the Authority’s budget and finding the savings of £45m that are still needed over the next two years.”

61% of working people get welfare due to low pay, this means yours and my tax goes to subsidised the profits of big business, for example Tesco made just shy of £4 Billion profit last year, the staff secured £1.5 in Welfare payments, even paying staff a decent wage would still leave a maga profit, Pay people more you end up reducing welfare bill by 61% and give people money that can produce more tax and boost the wider economy. As you use the Internet thought you would be bright and not believe the rubbish we are fed that we have no money.. we just have 2 many theifs in charge of it. Look up People Before profit or read the fantastic Commmunty blog ;lewishamcampaignerb
logspot.
Since when has it been looney to save a Fire station from closure? Demand is on the increase and not falling. Insurance companies could be made to pay towards this.

Maybe they've actually found that mythical money tree that all Lefties think exists somewhere out there.
