Children hoping for another day playing in the snow have been disappointed as schools across the borough are open.

Train passengers have struggled into work without major delays to services although South West trains are running a revised timetable today.

The overground service between Richmond and Willesden Junction is currently not running but tickets are being accepted on the district line and busses.

There is also a limited service on the Hampton Court branch.

The worst of the snow is now expected to move north.

Martin Young, Met Office Chief Forecaster, said: “Many parts will stay icy over the next few days, and there is the continuing risk of some snow at times almost anywhere.

“The heaviest snow, however, is expected across parts of eastern England and eastern Scotland through Sunday night and Monday, bringing the risk of disruption in some areas.

“Everyone should keep up to date with the latest weather information and plan ahead for possible travel delays and disruption to transport during this spell of wintry weather.”

Council gritters continue to salt the roads to keep them as safe as possible.
