Missing Erith man Kamaljit Aujla found dead in Belvedere woodland

A 54-YEAR-OLD man who went missing from his home in Erith has died.
Earlier this month the Met Police launched a public appeal to help trace Kamaljit Aujla after his family became increasingly concerned for his welfare.
Officers searching Franks Wood in Belvedere found Mr Aujla's body at 8.50pm on Friday. (Jan 11).
Ambulance crews were called to the scene but he was pronounced dead at 9.30pm.
His next of kin have been informed and on Saturday Mr Aujla’s body was formerly identified.
He was last seen in the Lower Belvedere area at around noon on Wednesday, January 9, wearing a black woolly hat, grey hooded top, grey jogging bottoms, white trainers and a white T-shirt.
He had a Freedom Pass and when last seen he had about £20 on him with no access to further funds.
Police are not treating Mr Aujla’s death as suspicious at this time.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place on Tuesday. (Jan 15) A date for the inquest is yet to be decided.
