A gas leak in Teddington has prompted emergency repairs, which closed Manor Road in both directions overnight.

The road was closed shortly after midnight today, and the closure was changed to a temporary four-way traffic signal system from 9.30am, which is being manually controlled by Southern Gas Networks in peak times.

The repairs are at the junction of Manor Road, Ferry Road and Teddington Park Road.

A council spokesman said: “There was a gas leak discovered in Manor Road at the junction of Ferry Road Teddington overnight last night.

"A road closure was put in place with a diversion via High Street Teddington. The timescale of these works is not known at present.”

London Buses has been informed of the issues.
