3:20pm Sunday 18th November 2012 in News By Robert Fisk
BROMLEY’S best boozers have received official recognition for the way in which they manage their premises.
Fourteen of the boroughs bars and pubs were given Best Bar None (BBN) plaques at a celebratory event held at the Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley.
The BBN judges were impressed with how the licensees addressed issues including the crime prevention, health and safety and controlling outside smoking and drinking.
In Bromley plaques were handed out to The Greyhound, Henry’s Café Bar, TP’s, The Slug and Lettuce, The Crown Toby Carvery and The Compass.
The Woodman and Change of Horses in Farnborough were both given plaques as was Ye Olde Whyte Lion in Locksbottom.
The Crooked Billet Harvester in Bickley, The Toby Carvery in Elmers End, The Railway Hotel in West Wickham, The Harvest Moon in Orpington and the Royal Oak in Green Street Green were also given plaques.
