FIREFIGHTERS have brought a fire in a flat in Deptford under control.

There were two fire engines and 10 staff tackling the flames at a ground floor flat - which has been partly damaged - in Grove Street.

Crews from Deptford and Dockhead had the blaze under control by 12.10pm after being called at 11.15am.

Nobody was injured and a fire investigation unit are currently at the scene.

A London Fire Brigade spokeswoman said: "It was brought under control at 12.10pm. Part of a ground floor flat was damaged. Nobody was injured."
