Keeping a little one entertained isn’t always easy and coming up with something new to do every day is even trickier.

My better half and I are making a conscious effort to think up new and interesting ways to keep his inquisitive mind active, and so this week Elijah went to a children’s farm.

To say he loved it would be an understatement.

There are so many things in our lives we simply take for granted and it’s only when you see them through the eyes of a child, you realise what great experiences they are, especially when seeing them for the first time.

Now, he’s already been acquainted with a few friends’ pet dogs and isn’t fazed in the slightest, but seeing new furry creatures in all shapes and sizes certainly boggled his mind.

He especially liked the meerkats. He stared at them for at least 10 minutes making excitable noises and didn’t want to leave when it was time to move on.

I honestly believe we could have stood there for half an hour and he would have been more than happy.

Other animals Elijah loved were the owls and the giant rabbit, both of which seemed to impress daddy too!

It was fun seeing all the animals but on the way back to the car, daddy should have known better than to visit the souvenir shop.

Even at this age little hands like to grab things and little eyes are on stalks as they pass all the new toys.

This could become a problem in the future.

Not only is a day at the farm great for the little ones but also takes you down memory lane.

I’m looking forward to all the new adventures we’ll have as a family. Trips to the theatre, zoo, park, leisure centres will no doubt be on the list and the more suggestions the better.
