Will speak for veg: Brigitte Faubert, mayor Rita Palmer and Adrian Palmer
The mayor of Richmond spoke to Kew Gardens’ Rotary Club about her education and working life.
Accompanied by her consort Adrian Palmer, Councillor Rita Palmer was presented with a box of Kew allotment grown vegetables by the club’s president Brigitte Faubert.
Miss Faubert said: “It was really fascinating; the mayor has done a whole lot of work in the prison service. It showed us that the mayor is not just a figurehead, but very committed to helping her community.
“The gift of vegetables which are grown in local allotments fitted very well with her working life as she used to encourage prison officers to look at their nutrition.”
Twice a year the club hosts a get together of the Kew Forum, where representatives from local organisations in the Kew area share news and ideas with others in the community.
