Teddington finally gets its farmers' market
10:00am Sunday 28th October 2012 in News By Amy Dyduch
Teddington will pilot a farmers’ market next month at Teddington Memorial Hospital, selling seasonal food in time for Christmas.
The market is organised by London Farmers’ Markets, which operates the market in Twickenham every Saturday.
The market will be full of festive cheer when it opens on November 25, with a backdrop of carols and stalls overflowing with seasonal treats, including spiced apple juice, free range seasonal sausage recipes, farmhouse cheese, locally grown vegetables and fruit, honey, Christmas cake and puddings.
A spokesman from London Farmers’ Markets said: “We’ve had so many inquiries over the years from Teddington residents so we are delighted to have this trial market off the ground.
“If this one is successful we hope a weekly farmers’ market will commence at the hospital in the spring.”
All the stalls at the market will be run by farmers and food producers and the Friends of the Hospital will raise funds. The gates will open between 10am and 2pm.
