LEWISHAM: Police will not confirm suspect's identity

Police have dismissed reports that Jimmy Mizen's killer may have fled to Cyprus as "lazy journalism".

And the Met is refusing to confirm that they are looking for a 19-year-old Turkish youth in connection with the killing.

National press and media have today reported that an arrest warrant has been issued for a young Turkish man, known to live in the area near the scene of the murder in Burnt Ash Hill, Lee.

Police refused to comment on claims that they have issued an all ports warning and fear the suspect may have fled the country for northern Cyprus.

A police spokesman dismissed the reports as "speculation" and "lazy journalism".

When the police do not give out a description, and as we have seen in the papers today, not bothering to view CCTV after a robbery. It's not journalism thats being lazy.
The Police spokesman seems to be on a BAD publicity drive!
Come on Met police - you work for and are paid for us, don't drive your reputation into the dirt - help us. - and campaign for tougher sentences for violent crime.

Help us to help you!

If the suspect/s are black they don't fail to hesitate to publicise that a black person/s are wanted. Why is that? I bet if the person was black the police would have the press flooded with that information. Has anyone else noticed this is what they do? The other stabbing in Oxford street, they were quick to say black youths are the suspects!

THATS BECAUSE ANGELBLUE they already knew who the killer was. They didnt want to alert him to the fact they knew for sure it was him and increase the chances of him gettin the 1st plane 2 cyprus.I think when a black kid gets stabbed(10/10 out of 10 the assilant is black anyway, they mention this so as 2 perhaps not inflame the black/make them aware its not a race killing.p.s the fact they were lookin for a turkish boy was well known
