Children must apply for travel photocards
Youngsters have until Saturday to apply for an Oyster photocard to travel on London's buses.
Under-14s do not currently need to have a photocard to benefit from free travel in the capital.
But from June 1 all 11 to 15-year-olds will need a valid Oyster photocard to travel free on buses and trams.
Any child who does not have a card must apply by May 10 to make sure they receive it in time.
They can be withdrawn if the cardholder misbehaves on a bus, as they already can be for teenagers aged over 14.
The card, which has been named the Zip card, can be applied for at post offices.
