Headless body's death unclear

A post-mortem on a decapitated body found behind shops in north-west London has been unable to reveal the exact cause of death.

Police are still searching Kingsgate Place in Kilburn to find the missing head of the adult man who was found wrapped in blankets in a gold-coloured retail stock cage.

Police would not confirm a report that two flats a few yards away from the scene were also being searched.

A member of the public found the body behind shops at Kingsgate Place on Wednesday morning.

Police have not yet named the victim, while the scene remains cordoned off.

There have been no arrests in the inquiry and police say they do not know how long the body had been in the cage before it was found.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Incident Room on 020 8358 0300 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
