BUDDING musicians, singers and songwriters are being encouraged to take part in a musical workshop featuring Midnight Blue.

This soulful band with their unique, funky sound, will be bringing their musical talents to Tottenham Green Leisure Centre on Thursday, June 25.

The event has been organised by the College of North East London.

A spokeswoman for the college said: "The aim of the workshops is to give local people who are musically talented the chance to develop their talents by performing with professional musicians who have been on the circuit for a number of years.

``All members of the community will gain from this project, from those who are musically talented and want to attend the workshop, to those who just love music and want to come to the show.''

The workshops feature the whole range of career opportunities in the music industry including vocals, sound engineering, song writing, guitar, keyboards, rap, drums and percussion, digital sequencing, music graphics and bass guitar.

Midnight Blue have worked with the likes of Dave Stewart, Bob Geldof, Eternal and Rianna Scippio since forming last year.

The band made their debut TV appearance on the BBC1 Lottery Live Show, filmed at the Acoustic Cafe in July 1997.

The workshop will take place from 11am to 4pm, to be followed by a performance between 7pm and 9pm involving all participants from the daytime workshop, a set by Midnight Blue and surprise guest appearances.
