The Landmark Arts Centre, in Teddington, has announced a season of song and laughter, with its autumn and winter programme. Music lovers are well catered for as the Festival of Song returns in October and the popular Comedy Works nights are back. There will also be art exhibitions, a quiz night, workshops and a food fair. Here are some of the highlights for the colder months.
Wild West Quiz Night, September 17
Don your stetson for a Wild West-themed quiz. You’ll need to round up a team of six or less to take part in this event that will raise funds for the Landmark Loft project. Tickets cost £12 or £10 to Landmark members. The ticket price includes a chilli supper.
Twickenham Art Circle Autumn Exhibition, September 17-19,/p>
The Twickenham Art Circle will display a range of affordable, original art in a wide variety of subjects, media and styles. Admission is free.
Comedy Works, September 30
The excellent Patrick Monahan is the headliner for the first Comedy Works night of the new season.
Momentum Charity Opera, October 3
The Landmark is hosting a celebration of opera as soloists, including Ashley Holland and the Three ‘Other’ Tenors, and a chorus drawn from a number of the UK’s leading opera companies perform well-known pieces from legendary works. The concert is in aid of Momentum, a charity supporting children with cancer and life-limiting conditions. Tickets cost £22, available from Momentum by calling 020 8974 5931.
Landmark Festival of Song – Fascinating Aida, October 24
Fascinating Aida has been delighting audiences since performer Dillie Keane created it more than 25 years ago and the show will be opening the Festival of Song’s opening event.
Landmark Festival of Song - London Community Gospel Choir, October 10
The choir, who have performed at Wembley Stadium and Glastonbury, will close the festival. Tickets cost £18 with £15 concessions.
Sparkle: Contemporary Craft and Gourmet Food Fair, November 19-21
Sixty designers sell jewellery, ceramics, glassworks and much more. There will also be a selection of gourmet food for sale to keep shoppers well-fed.
