Dir: Jennifer Baichwal

The environmental price of progress is laid bare in a fascinating if treacle-paced documentary on the work of photographer Edward Burtynsky. Jennifer Baichwal follows the Canadian through the factories and industrial sites of China. There's a terrible beauty to be found in the mountains of "e-waste" - old computers and mobiles - and a land being stripped of its riches, and a warning, too, that what is done will not easily be undone. With the message clear from early on, Baichwal is content to let the images speak for themselves.
