As glossy and sleazy as a pornographic magazine, this erotic thriller is a throwback to trashy American movies of the 1980s such as 91/2 Weeks and Fatal Attraction. Ewan McGregor and Hugh Jackman square up to one another as, respectively, a nerdy New York accountant and a slick con man who introduces the number cruncher to an exclusive sex club before embroiling him in a multi-million dollar scam. Awful - and unrepeatable - X-rated dialogue and an increasingly ridiculous plot are combined to laughably bad effect. It's not unenjoyable as Hollywood thrillers go, but there's a definite sense that the cast - which also includes cute little Michelle Williams, looking totally out of place vamping it up - is far more classy than the film.
