Dir: Jonathan Gershfield
With: Mackenzie Crook, Colm Meaney, Imelda Staunton, Gemma Arteton

Slapstick comedy and soul-searching drama are uneasily wed in this tonally uneven but engaging Britflick. Skinny Englishman Mackenzie Crook and burley Irishman Colm Meaney make a watchable odd couple as, respectively, a London Underground train driver and a homeless person who strike a mutually beneficial suicide pact. Their scheme begins to fall apart, however, over the course of a weekend in which the pair get to know - and like - one another while on a trip to the Lake District to visit Meaney's estranged wife and daughter (Imelda Staunton and new Bond girl Gemma Arteton). A decent cast is let down by an underdeveloped script and perfunctory direction.
