If we're to believe Keith Murray and Chris Cain, they spent last year on serious diets, kicking the booze, playing with race cars and losing long-time drummer Michael Tapper to early retirement. It's a wonder the pair had time to record their second album as well.

As before, this is Yankee alt-rock played with a smile on its face and a big guitar at every turn. Words-wise they tackle relationship fall outs like they don't care (but you know they do really) and pull apart their friendships for our entertainment. In truth, Brain Thrust Mastery is pretty much what you'd expect to find from WAS, although the synths and syndrums of Lethal Enforcer recall Spandau Ballet's early '80s funk-punk pastiche.

Clever enough then, but smugly so at times.
