The Warehouse Theatre will host the 26th annual International Playwriting Festival over two days this March.
Running on Saturday and Sunday March 3 and 4 the festival, held in partnership with theatres from Italy and Nicosia, will showcase new plays from Britain and the rest of the world.
Founded in 1986, the International Playwriting Festival is held in two parts: first, a competition is held with entries judged by a panel of theatre professionals. The second part is a showcase of the selected plays. Writing from all over the world is considered, and plays from Greece and Italy are represented in the showcase.
The long-list of selected plays up for selection include The Big Deal, The Cornflake Saga, Educating Bobby K, Mesh, Shaking the Tree, The Tie That Binds Me and Who Did You Say You Were.
A shortlist drawn from this selection of plays that will be performed will be announced later in the month.
