ARE YOU destined for a life treading the boards entertaining the masses? Or would you prefer to be behind the scenes?

If so, then you are in luck. Leading family holiday operator Pontins is holding a series of auditions in its quest to find young people with lively personalities and talent to work as Bluecoats in its centres for the 2008 season.

For many people aspiring to have a career in show business, working as a Pontin's Bluecoat is one of a few opportunities to gain the experience and confidence needed to entertain live audiences throughout the year.

The prime requirement for becoming a Bluecoat is a friendly and outgoing personality, but basic skills in singing, dancing or stagecraft are a must.

As a Pontin's Bluecoat, you'll be experiencing every aspect of the entertainment business, including production shows and cabarets, gaining valuable experience on stage. There may also be opportunities to work alongside celebrities.

Currently recruiting for the holiday season ahead, Pontins are holding auditions across the country to find talented young Bluecoats. London auditions are taking place at Riverside Studios, Crisp Road, Hammersmith tomorrow with sessions starting at 10.30am and 1.30pm.

Entertainment production manager Julie Butcher said: "Everyone who comes along to the auditions will have a one-to-one interview with one of our entertainment managers so we can get to know them personally.

"Then applicants will be put into groups and given a typical scenario which they would come across as a Bluecoat so we can gauge how well they will be able to deal with situations in the workplace."

Successful applicants will receive training, giving them a great start in the entertainment business and the opportunity to meet and learn from professional artists and musicians.

Not only will working as a Bluecoat enable you to develop all the skills needed to leap ahead in the entertainment industry, but it will give you the opportunity to meet some great friends.

Julie said: "Having the experience of a Bluecoat is absolutely invaluable for people who want to go on to higher things."
