Tory leader David Cameron is coming to Croydon next week to canvas public opinion.
He will be holding one of a series of “Cameron Direct” events – public meetings at which members of the public can ask him questions on any issue they are concerned about – at the Town Hall.
He is also inviting readers of the Croydon Guardian to ask him their questions.
Entry to the public meeting is open to anyone who lives or works in Croydon.
However, the event will be by ticket only. Mr Cameron is attending a fundraising event for Gavin Barwell, the Conservative candidate for the marginal seat of Croydon Central.
Mr Barwell said: “I am delighted that David is coming to Croydon to support my campaign and to host this public meeting.
“His approach is in sharp contrast to that of the Prime Minister, who seems to be more concerned with facing down opponents within the Labour Party than addressing the problems our country faces or listening to people’s concerns.
“Most of the people I speak to on the doorstep have had enough of this Government but they want to know exactly what a Conservative Government would do to address their concerns.
“This is their chance to come and ask the man who would lead that Government in person”.
