A former Tory councillor is due to appear in court today charged for his alleged involvement in a three-year hate campaign targeting Lib Dem politicians.
Councillor Ian Oakley, of the Northwood ward, was charged with five counts of criminal damage and two of harassment after he was questioned by Hertfordshire Police.
The West Drayton resident resigned as a Tory after being arrested on Friday, July 18, at his home in Ryelands Court.
The 31-year-old last appeared at St Albans Magistrates' Court on Thursday, July 25, where he was charged and bailed.
