SUTTON: Man, 21, dies after car hits tree
A man died after the car he was travelling in collided with a tree.
Police are investigating the fatal road accident which happened early on Sunday morning in Sutton.
A 21 year old man was taken to hospital and died shortly afterwards when the Ford Fusion car he was a passenger in hit a tree on St Dunstan’s Hill near to the junction with Alberia Road at about 3.35am yesterday.
He was taken by ambulance to St Heliers Hospital but medics could not save him.
A post-mortem will take place in due course.
A 20 year old male passenger was taken by ambulance to a south London hospital with minor injuries and has subsequently been discharged.
The 20 year old driver of the car was also taken by ambulance to a south London hospital where he is currently in a stable condition.
